TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:What is the relationship between RSK Labs, RIF Labs, and IOV Labs? Can you tell us something about their history?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSK:As part of the process of building RSK which went live in 2018 and today is the safest Smart Contract platform in the world we realized that in order to create this Internet of Value and the financial system of the future we needed additional services (Data Storage, Name Services, Faster Payment Processing, etc.) so we decided to create a spinoff company called RIF Labs in 2017. In 2018 we realized that the best way to achieve our vision was to merge both companies, RSK Labs & RIF Labs, what we did in November last year and the combination of both companies gave birth to IOV Labs the organization that will continue to develop both RSK & RIF Platforms and the combined Ecosystem.

TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:Unlike other merged mining projects with coinbase rewards, such as Namecoin and Dogecoin, RSK only rewards its miners with transaction fees, which is not very attractive if we take RSK's transaction volume into consideration. So will you have a promotion plan for emerged mining?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSK:That's correct, indeed we are starting a new RSK incentive program based on smart contracts that will include RIF tokens but to which any project willing support RSK can contribute. This will mimic the initial subsidy that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies had through minting of new currencies. In a way RSK is testing sustainability models that will serve Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies as in a few years most of them will have to survive only based on fees as well.

TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:RSK incentive program, sounds very interesting. Could you tell us some details?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKYes, it is a Smart Contract where donors can send smart Bitcoins (RBTC) or any token to incentivize the miners. The tokens then are distributed over time to miners based on their hashing power contribution. The first donor will be IOV Labs who will contribute RIF tokens to the pool.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKRSK currently supports the execution of any Smart Contract written in Solidity but we are in the process of integrating the Aion VM to also support Java Smart Contracts. From an API perspective RSK supports all the Web3 & RPC interfaces that Ethereum has so any project running on an Ethereum compatible blockchain can be ported to run on RSK without modification and be secured by the Bitcoin Network

TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:At present, the RSK merge-mining growth has left behind its bootstrapping phase and reached the stable phase with its hashrate accounting for more than 40% of Bitcoin's hashrate, more secure than in the past. But in theory RSK is still less secure than Bitcoin system due to its incentive mechanism. So here's the question: How does Bitcoin's hashrate distribution affect the security of RSK? And how is this part of Bitcoin hashrate distributed? Does the RSK have any precautions against the 51% attack caused by potential hashrate centralization problems?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKMining decentralization in Bitcoin has improved over the years and in the case of the hashrate merge-mining RSK we have good diversity. Even thou RSK is the most secure smart contract platform in the world thanks to its current hashing power, fluctuating between 30% and 48% of the Bitcoin Network, still as long as we have less than 65% of the hashing power we are at risk of being attacked by the miners not participating in the merge-mining process. To improve this situation our research & development teams have created a system called Armadillo, soon to be deployed, that enable RSK nodes to detect and protect from this attack making them extremely costly on the Bitcoin side.

TokenGazer Community:RSK smart contracts are Ethereum compatible, so what's your advantage over Ethereum? How do you make users migrate from Ethereum to RSK for smart contract development?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKOn one side you have more economical security with 30% of the hashing power of Bitcoin or more RSK is the safest Smart Contract platform in the world. On the other hand, one of the major problems for applications running in Ethereum in the past is how volatile the transaction costs are. In RSK thanks to the minimum gas price negotiation model and soon to the fiat set fees the execution price is extremely stable.

Additionally with the RIF Ecosystem built on top of RSK application developers will be able to use high speed / low cost transactions thanks to RIF Payments, decentralized Data Storage thanks to RIF Data, Name Services with RIF Directory and many other decentralized cloud computing services all with a single token and using their native languages (Java, JS, Python, C#, etc.)thanks to RIF Libraries.

Building decentralized applications on top of the RSK / RIF ecosystem will be fast and cost efficient so developers will be able to focus on solving business / social problems.

TokenGazer Community:Last time in China you mentioned RSK will become a distributed cloud computing platform. Can you tell us something about the apps on it? How does RIF integrate with RSK, how do they complement each other?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKRIF OS is a living concept and therefore is constantly evolving but its core objective is to provide the infrastructure services & libraries required to efficiently build fully decentralized applications that scale. Our purpose is to build an ecosystem on top of Bitcoin & RSK that is capable of providing financial services for 1 billion people currently excluded in our society.

With that in mind is that we design the core components of RIF following the principles of decentralization, privacy protection and neutrality that guided Bitcoin & RSK as well.

All RIF protocols & implementations are structured in peer to peer (P2P) fashion where participants can be either providers and / or consumers of the RIF Services. RSK Smart Contracts are used to enforce agreements when they are not respected on the P2P interactions, as this enforcement is inescapable, onchain (in the blockchain) interactions are avoided most of the time leading to great efficiency and scalability gains.

The core components of RIF OS are:

- RIF Payments. Instant, extremely low-cost P2P payments with balance settlement on the RSK Network. RIF Payments implementations will be able to process tens of thousands of transactions per second. Transactions can be done with RBTC, RIF, RIF Fiat or any other token that lives on the RSK Network.

- RIF Data. Decentralized, redundant and encrypted data storage. In the future streaming services might be integrated as well. You can think of this as a collaborative economy driven version of AWS or AL iCloud Data Storage services. "The Uber of" Cloud Storage Services:

- RIF Directory. A naming system that provides aliases for cryptocurrency addresses and smart contracts. Much like DNS simplified the use of the Internet by converting IP addresses into human readable domain names RIF Directory does the same for payments and smart contracts interactions. RIF Directory is used by the other RIF Services to keep a registry of service providers and tokens. In the future RIF Identity will also be integrated.

- RIF Gateways. Different ways to gather information from the outside world or from other Blockchains into the RSK Blockchain to trigger smart contract actions. A standardized marketplace for oracling providers (centralized, federated or crowd based) and prediction / information markets.

- RIF Secure Communications. P2P communication protocols that enable the secure exchange of sensitive information. This service can be integrated with RIF Directory to do the discovery of the counterparties.

- RIF Marketplace. A set of contracts that enable the creation of decentralized marketplaces. The first implementations will be focused providing the mechanism needed for RIF Payments, RIF Data & RIF Gateways to work but in the future, we envision other will build their own marketplaces and when RIF Identity is implemented even reputation-based marketplaces (the Uber of Uber).

- RIF Libraries. Programming libraries & documentation that abstracts the complexities of using decentralized infrastructure so developer can build decentralized applications in their native language (JS, Java, Python, C#, etc.).

- RIF Identity. Together with the RIF Wallet library this is one of the most important components of RIF Libraries. It provides the basics to anchor identities on the RSK Network and later sign and exchange event attestations that later can be used to build reputational models. We are in talks with the top experts in this field (Sovrin, uPort and others) to define a joint standard.

Finally Using these RIF services & components we are partnering with experts to build core applications like RIF Fiat (stable assets overcollateralized with RIF) and Decentralized Exchanges that will turn RIF into the financial system of the future.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKThere are Market Makers ensuring smooth operations of the markets, but their function is not to create artificial volume or influence the price. So, the markets volume and prices are driven by real adoption and interest. IOV Labs has funding equivalent to four times the current market cap of the RIF token devoted to build the technology and bring use cases on top of our platforms. Next week RIF Lumino Payments the second component of the RIF OS Protocols will be launched at Consensus in NYC and people will start to grasp the true potential of the RSK / RIF ecosystem.

TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:Why does RIF OS use RIF instead RBTC as its payment token? I think RBTC is more stable than RIF and it seems not necessary to add another token at the risk of system instability.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKThe function that each platform and token fulfil is deeply connected with the vision that I shared before. In our vision the Internet of Value will be built in a multi layered approach like the Internet of Information did and by definition an Internet is a network of networks. Having said that the stack that we are building on top of Bitcoin will look like this:

- Bitcoin as the Reserve of Value Layer (Layer 1),

- RSK as the Agreements or Business Logic Layer (Layer 2),

- RIF Services as the Collaborative Cloud Computing Layer (Layer 3),

- RIF Libraries as the Framework / SDK Layer (Layer 4),

- DApps as the Application Layer (Layer 5).

But as I said this is the "Internet" of Value so multiple stacks can be built on top of other stores of value. Possible alternative stacks we plan to build are:

Bitcoin Cash -> RSK -> RIF Services -> RIF Libraries

Ethereum, Tron or EOS -> RIF Services -> RIF Libraries

In that context is that we designed each of our platforms to have their own native token. In the case of RSK and given the need to have full alignment with the Bitcoin miners we decided to create a native token (RBTC or Smart Bitcoin) that was pegged 1:1 with bitcoins. But in the case of RIF as we wanted portability with other smart contract platforms, we decided to create a separate utility token named RIF. In this way we could align economic incentives of the different ecosystems.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKWe are already working with many of the top exchanges to integrate both RSK and RIF, so we expect this to happen soon. There were some technical delays as the Exchanges need to setup new servers in order to integrate RSK properly and legal because as we are a purpose driven organization, we need to be very careful in the type of agreements we sign.

TokenGazer Community:As the star project of 2016 / 2017, RSK leads the innovation in the sidechain area. But now the value model of RSK is facing severe challenge from its two-core value:

1. fast & cheap payment: The first value of RSK is to transfer Bitcoin in a Cheaper & Faster way, which called Micropayment in your Whitepaper, But as we know, Lightning network is rising now and have been helped by many top players, such as Square & twitter, and the transactions amount is rising fast too.

2. Data: RSK has less than 6000 txns per day (2 txns average per block) (https://explorer.rsk.co/blocks) lightning network updated channels 31320 (refer: https://1ml.com/). Data as below: LN network statistics today.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKAlthough RSK is a scalability solution for Bitcoin as it can handle 100 tps at around 6 cents RMB transaction cost, we don't think that's the whole value proposition. The ability to have Smart Contracts attached to Bitcoin and be able to do decentralized escrows, exchanges or stable assets collateralized with bitcoin is much more powerful than Bitcoin payments alone. We don't see Lightning as a competitor but as a complement to RIF Lumino Payments. One of the many interesting projects that is being developed is one that enables you to pay with bitcoin through Lightning and those payments are converted through RIF Lumino into RIF Fiat (ie: RIFRMB) so the destination party receives RMB. All this is done in real time. This are the kinds of solutions that the integration of Bitcoin, Lightning, RSK and RIF can enable.

TokenGazer Community:RSK was originally a side chain of BTC, aimed at improving BTC. It is later compatible with ETH and EOS, and then gets equipped with the storage function (is it copying the IPFS design?), and then it starts to do the payment function. Is your team capable of developing so many functions at the same time? Or are you just stealing the designs of other projects?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKOur value proposition is to offer a seamlessly integrated suite of protocols and libraries integrated in a unified marketplace. That's something no other project has tried to achieve.

Regarding the paganization, there are multiple aspects to this:

- We do take the best of breath of existing platforms in order to build our platforms and give credit to the original projects.

- RIF OS protocols require service providers to at least accept RIF token as payment, but they can accept other tokens as well so for example Filecoin is welcome to integrate in the RIF Marketplace and they can accept both RIF and their token.

- We did a lot of improvement / contributions to the projects we integrate, and all our code is open source so give back to the community. Example of this are Bitcoin, BitcoinJ, Ethereum and soon we will make contributions to Swarm, Raiden and others.

- Finally, we have one of the top 10 crypto development teams in the world, our Chief Scientist, Sergio Lerner found 9 bugs in the Bitcoin code and was hired by the Bitcoin Foundation as core security developer. He also created DAGcoin the base for IOTA, Avalanche and other tangles or DAGs. We have already provided many unique innovations like:

- DECOR+ RSK Consensus protocol that solved selfish mining problems in the Ghost Consensus protocol used by Ethereum.

- Created an improved storage validation system now integrated in Filecoin (https://bitslog.com/2014/11/03/proof-of-local-blockchain-storage/).

- Integrated merge mining modules in the main Bitcoin Pools software (Eloi Pool, BTC.com, CKPool, Stratum, etc.) that enable zero efficiency loss on the Bitcoin side.

- An many others

In the open source world plagiarizing only exist if you deny the contributions of others and / or you don't contribute back to the community. Our focus is on putting decentralized technologies to the service of society so our focus is on building the most secure and efficient decentralized platforms and create tools so developers can use them to improve the world with the best effort to output ratio.

关于抄袭, 有几个方面:

TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:Will the merged mining model affect the RSK blockchain upgrade? Is RSK blockchain likely to hard fork during the upgrade and generate two different blockchains as most Bitcoin miners do not pay much attention to RSK and are not likely to reach a consensus on RSK?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKThankfully the hard forks we had in the past were very succesful and all the miners, exchanges and solutions were very prompt to upgrade. Of course, as the network grows it will be more and more difficult to do hard forks so our Research team is working on some mechanisms to increase visibility on the willingness / readiness of the different actors of the ecosystem to upgrade to the new software. Also, we expect that as the platform settles less and less hard forks will be needed.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKAll the RIF services are integrated in the RIF Marketplace and RIF Directory. In order to offer their services, service providers are required to register and stake a certain amount of RIF tokens that act as insurance, also the ratio between the locked RIF and the contracts taken is used to distribute work among providers balancing risk.

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKWe like the Blockstack approach a lot and we agree that the Blockchain main value is for validation than computation, but we think that the approach of building approach directly on top of Bitcoin add a lot of complexity both from a technical perspective and from the perspective of creating a decentralized marketplace. Those problems can be solved by using RSK that provides general purpose scripting, statefulness and faster confirmation time. All this enables very powerful constructs like counterfactual state channels that can take their vision further. If we add this to the collaborative cloud computing services provided by RIF we can have Blockstack on steroid, hopefully we can collaborate with them in the future.

TokenGazer Community:In terms of listing on top 3 exchanges. It has been half a year since RIF was launched, is it too long a period for you to list on top exchanges? Does the team think of the top exchanges as Kucoin and Coinbene? Or Binance and Huobi?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKWe have one of the top Exchanges (Bitfinex) already in place and we also consider top Exchanges for different regions to Binance, Huobi, OKEx, Upbit, Bittrex, Bitstamp & Kraken.

TokenGazer Researcher Tiger:I noticed the recent update of the RIF storage information on the RIF blog. Can you tell us more about it? For example, what kind of economic system and storage verification solution is used in the RIF decentralized storage?

Diego Gutierrez-Zaldivar ¦ RSKRIF Storage, as other RIF framework services, is a unified protocol. It will cover number of use cases ranging from storing backups of personal content to streaming popular files that can be unstructured or have predefined structure supporting advanced queries. The vision is to foster integration of all successful storage networks under the same RIF Storage API and UI. We want it to be as simple and seamless as selecting the provider from a list. RIF Storage users may be able to switch between storage networks seamlessly or even storing a single file on several networks at the same time. The first implementation is based on Swarm tackling the use case of serving unstructured popular content (e.g. DApps, multimedia). For this use case, the economic system will be paid to consume and will utilite (some) variations of the Swarm incentive and proof mechanisms (SWAP, SWEAR, SWINDLE, SMASH).
