28-No parking

Jasper White is one of those rare people who believes in ancient myths.

句子结构（主系表）：

主(Jasper White) + 系(is) + 表(one of those rare people) + 定语从句(who believes in ancient myths)

** believe in

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 一般现在时

He has just bought a new house in the city, but ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their owners.

句子结构（主谓宾）：

主(He) + 谓(has just bought) + 宾(a new house) + 地点状语(in the city)

+ 转折连词(but ) + ever since引导的状语从句(he moved in)

+ 主(he) + 谓(has had) + 宾(trouble) + 状(with cars and their owners)

** ever since 自从….

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 has done --> has bought, bought是buy的过去分词 has done --> has had, had是have的过去分词

When he returns home at night, he always finds that someone has parked a car outside his gate.

句子结构（主谓宾）：

时间状语从句(When he returns home at night)+ 主(He) + 谓(finds ) + 宾从(that someone has parked a car outside his gate)

** 宾从分析：主(someone) + 谓(has parked) + 宾( a car) + 地点状语(outside his gate)

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 has done --> has parked, parked是park的过去分词

Because of this, he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once.

句子结构（主谓宾）：

状(Because of this)+ 主(He) + 谓(has not been able) + 宾(to get his own car into his garage) + 状(even once)

** be able to 能够不定式结构做宾语to get…

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 has done --> has been able to, been是be的过去分词

Jasper has put up 'No Parking' signs outside his gate, but these have not had any effect.

句子结构（主谓宾）：

主(Jasper ) + 谓(has put up) + 宾('No Parking' signs) + 地点状语(outside his gate)

+ 转折连词(but) + 主(these) + 谓(have not had) + 宾(any effect)

** put up 挂起

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 has done --> has put up, put是put的过去分词

have done --> have had any effect, had是have的过去分词

Now he has put an ugly stone head over the gate.

句子结构（主谓宾）：

时间状语(Now ) + 主(he) + 谓(has put) + 宾(an ugly stone head) + 地点状语(over the gate)

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 has done --> has put, put是put的过去分词

It is one of the ugliest faces I have ever seen.

句子结构（主系表）：

主(It) + 系(is) + 表(one of the ugliest faces) + 定语从句(I have ever seen)

== It is one of the ugliest faces that I have ever seen.

that做定语从句的宾语，做主句的定语

宾语从句中的that可以省略(that不做成分), 定语从句中假如引导词that在从句中充当宾语,可以省略

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 have done --> have seen, seen是see的过去分词

I asked him what it was and he told me that it was Medusa, the Gorgon.

句子结构（主谓双宾）：

主(I) + 谓(asked) + 宾(him) + 宾2(what it was)

+并列连词(and) + 主(he) + 谓(told) + 宾(me) + 宾2(that it was Medusa, the Gorgon)

** what it was做asked第二个宾语，引导词what做从句宾语

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 一般过去时 asked --> ask told --> tell

jasper hopes that she will turn cars and their owners to stone.

句子结构（主谓双宾）：

主(jasper) + 谓(hopes) + 宾从(that she will turn cars and their owners to stone)

** 主(she ) + 谓(will turn… to…) + 宾(cars and their owners to stone)

** turn … to … 将…转变为…

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 一般过去时 asked --> ask told --> tell

But none of them has been turned to stone yet!

句子结构（主谓宾）：

主(none of them) + 谓(has been turned to) + 宾(stone)

** none of … 没有一个…

** turn to 变成；求助于

You can turn to him for help when ( it is) necessary.

必要时，你可以向他求助。

谓语变化（三态 + 一否）：

时态: 现在完成时 + 被动语态 has done + be done --> has been turned, turned是turn的过去分词

贾斯珀.怀特是少有的相信古代神话的人之一。他刚在城里买下一所新房子，但自从搬进去后，就和汽车及车主们发生了磨擦。当他夜里回到家时，总是发现有人把车停在他家大门外。为此，他甚至一次也没能把自己的车开进车库。贾斯珀曾把几块“禁止停车”的牌子挂在大门外边，但没有任何效果。现在他把一个丑陋的石雕头像放在了大门上边，这是我见过的最丑陋的头像之一。我问他那是什么？他告诉我那是蛇发女怪美杜莎。贾斯珀希望她把汽车和车主们都变成石头。但到目前为止还没有一个变成石头呢！
