Tools for Developing Speech-enabled Mobile Applications Mobile applications enable users to access information and services from wherever they are, whenever they want, using a variety of mobile devices including Android, iPhone, and Windows phone. Speech technologies, including text-to-speech synthesis and automatic speech recognition integrated with other forms of user input and output, enable easy-to-learn and easy-to-use applications that may also be hands-free. To promote the use of speech technologies in mobile applications, AVIOS has constructed this catalog of tools for developing speech-enabled mobile applications. Mobile application developers can review this catalog as a resource to identify tools which they can use to develop speech-enabled applications easier. This catalog includes tools that enable applications which take can take advantage of the features of a smart phone, including voice, key, and touch, geolocation, and device orientation as input and graphics, voice, and vibration as output. For more details about what is included and excluded, see here. The catalog of speech application development tools may be incomplete. As new tools are created and made available to the public, AVIOS wants to add them to thos catalog.
