An application can also be named as a cover letter. It always comes with a resume. A cover letter, an application, usually covers: ①one’s purpose of writing – asking for a position (sometimes the source of vacant information can also be mentioned); ②key information of one’s background (education, knowledge & relevant experiences or competences); ③ asking for an interview. It’s not necessary to expand on your background and abilities in a cover letter. Brief and basic information is enough.
