Once upon a time, there was a land.

从前,有个国度。

It was ruled by an evil queen.

它被一位邪恶的女王统治。

Every day the Queen would look in her magic mirror.

女王每天都会照照她的魔镜。

She would ask, "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"

她会问:“魔镜啊,墙上的魔镜,谁是世上最美的人?”

Every day the mirror would reply, "You, my Queen, are very pretty. But Snow White is the prettiest in the land."

魔镜每天都会回答:“您,我的女王,非常漂亮。不过在这个国度,白雪公主是最漂亮的。”

This made the Queen very angry.

这让女王非常生气。

So she asked a soldier to kill Snow White.

所以她派了一名士兵去杀白雪公主。

But the soldier didn't kill her.

但是这个士兵没有杀她。

He let Snow White run away.

他让白雪公主逃跑。

Snow White wandered through the forest for days.

白雪公主在森林里流浪了几天。

One day she found a small house hidden in the trees.

一天,她发现一个隐藏在树木中的小房子。

When she entered the house, Snow White saw seven small beds.

当进入房子后,白雪公主看见7张小床。

She was so tired.

她非常累。

So she lay across the beds and fell asleep.

所以她横躺在这些床上睡着了。

Later that night, the owners of the cottage - the seven dwarves - arrived home from work.

到了晚上,小屋的主人,也就是7个小矮人,工作完到家了。

They were surprised to see a very pretty girl sleeping in their home.

看到一个非常漂亮的姑娘睡在他们家里,他们感到很惊讶。

Just then, Snow White woke up.

就在这时,白雪公主醒了。

"Don't be afraid of us. Are you in trouble, can we help?" asked one of the dwarves.

“别怕我们。你是不是遇到麻烦了,我们能帮得上忙吗?”其中一个小矮人问道。

Snow White explained to them why she could not go back home.

白雪公主向她们说明了为什么她不能回家。

The dwarves warned her to be very careful because the Queen was a witch.

小矮人们警示她要非常小心,因为女王是一个巫婆。

The dwarves were very kind to Snow White.

小矮人们对白雪公主非常好。

She spent her days helping to cook and clean for them.

她花时间帮他们做饭,清理家务。

Meanwhile, back at the castle, the witch asked the mirror one more time.

这时候,回到城堡,巫婆又一次问了魔镜。

"Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"

“魔镜啊,墙上的魔镜,谁是这世上最美的人?”

The mirror replied, "You, my Queen, are very pretty. But Snow White is still the prettiest in the land."

魔镜答道:“您,我的女王,非常漂亮。但在这个国度里,白雪公主仍是最漂亮的。”

The Queen became very mad!

女王变得异常生气!

Now she found out that Snow White was still alive.

现在,她知道白雪公主还活着。

She decided to get rid of Snow White herself this time.

这次,她决定亲自除掉白雪公主。

So she took an apple and put some poison inside of it.

然后她准备了一个苹果,并在里面下了毒。

If Snow White ate the apple, she would fall into a deep sleep and eventually die.

如果白雪公主吃了苹果,她将沉睡过去,最终死去。

The Queen then dressed herself as an old lady.

女王把自己扮成一位老妇人。

She went to the cottage of the seven dwarves.

她来到7个小矮人的小屋前。

"Is anybody home?" asked the old lady (who was really the Queen.)

“有人在家吗?”老妇人问道。(其实是女王扮的)

"I'm home alone. What can I do for you?" asked Snow White.

“我一个人在家。我能为你做些什么吗?”白雪公主问。

"I am selling delicious apples. Would you like to buy some?" the old lady replied.

“我正在卖好吃的苹果。你要买一些吗?”老妇人回答。

"Those apples do look good," said Snow White, "maybe I should buy some for the 7 dwarves."

“那些苹果看起来不错,”白雪公主说,“或许我应该为7个小矮人买一些。”

"Here, maybe you should taste one of my delicious apples," said the old lady.

“拿去,或许你应该尝一个。”老妇人说。

Snow White took one bite of the apple.

白雪公主咬了苹果一口。

Soon she fell down like she was dead.

很快,她倒了下去,看上去像是死了。

When the seven dwarves returned home from work, they found Snow White.

当7个小矮人工作完回到家,他们发现白雪公主。

The dwarves were so sad.

小矮人们很伤心。

They built her a glass coffin and placed her in their garden.

他们为她建造了一口玻璃棺材,并把她安置在了花园里。

That way, they could still see her beautiful face.

这样,他们仍能看到她美丽的脸。

One day a prince was passing by the cottage.

一天,一位王子经过小屋。

He saw the beautiful Snow White.

他看到了美丽的白雪公主。

And he fell in love with her.

并爱上了她。

He kissed Snow White on the lips.

他吻了白雪公主的嘴唇。

Suddenly, Snow White woke up and saw the prince standing next to her.

突然,白雪公主醒了,看到王子站在她身边。

The prince married Snow White and they lived happily ever after.

王子娶了白雪公主,从此他们快乐地生活着。
