On the Grasshopper and the Cricket John Keats

The poetry of earth is never dead：
大地富诗意，绵绵无尽期：

When all the birds are faint with the hot sun,

And hide in cooling trees, a voice will run

From hedge to hedge about the new-mown mead;

日炎鸟倦鸣，林荫且栖息。

竹篱绕绿茵，芳草新刈齐；

其中忽有声，绕篱悠悠起—

That is the Grasshopper’s—he takes the lead

In summer luxury, he has never done With his delights;

原是蝈蝈歌，欢乐渠为首；

仲夏多繁茂，泛若不系舟，

for when tired out with fun

He rests at ease beneath some pleasant weed.

享之不能尽，歌来不知愁；

偶然有倦意，野草丛中休。

The poetry of earth is ceasing never：

大地富诗意，绵绵永不息：

On a lone winter evening, when the frost

Has wrought a silence, from the stove there shrills.

冬夜洵凄清，霜天多岑寂，

此时有灶炉，火焰暖人心。

The Cricket’s song, in warmth increasing ever，

And seems to one in drowsiness half lost，

The Grasshopper’s among some grassy hills.

蟋蟀乘雅兴，引吭吐妙音；

主人嗒然坐，似眠又似醒，

莫非蝈蝈歌，来自远山青.
