Windows Mobile Device Center 6 for Windows Vista

当你使用了安装有WindowsVista操作系统的计算机后，你再也不必为未安装ActiveSync，PC无法与WindowsMobile同步而担心了，微软在WindowsVista中内置了“Windows Mobile Device Center ”帮助你同步、传输和保存你WindowsMobile中的数据信息，你可以通过蓝牙、无线、红外和USB保持链接。
Business-critical information
windows mobile数据中心可以链接日历、联系人信息、任务以及使Pocket Outlook和你的电脑的Outlook同步刷新邮件信息。这个应用可以自动检索你Pocket PC中变化和更改的信息，并将变化和增加的内容同步复制到桌面上来。
如果你需要你的Pock PC支持你的商务以及其他的企业级应用，你就会非常急需Exchange Server服务器支持你的Outlook。如果是那样的话，windowsmobile数据中心可以帮助你配置你的掌上终端与Exchange Server服务器同步。Exchange Server服务器同步数据的优势是，不必登陆计算机就可以更新数据。当使用电脑的时候可以通过windowsmobile数据中心链接互联网或者无线网络，链接到Exchange Server服务器。
Picture and music
windowsmobile数据中心提供了图片管理功能，它可以自动侦测到你手持设备中的新图片，在极短的时间内为每个图片增加标签信息，然后将这些图片输入到你电脑的WindowsVista图片库中。
微软媒体播放器也可以同步你手持设备中的音乐。你可以在媒体播放列表的下拉菜单中选择一个所要传输到你掌上终端的音乐文件，如果你需要，你可以将它转移到你的移动设备上，只要你有足够的空间。如果你有足够的空间，你可以建立额外的音乐库，它将自动同步数据。
另外，你可以在每次你链接他们的时候配置从新刷新并同步数据，所有的音乐将被删除，新音乐信息将被自动拷贝。如果你是在线音乐服务的订阅者，windowsmobile数据中心可以与Microsoft PlaysForSure兼容，例如URGE All Access To Go or Napster To Go，你可以无限制的从他们百万级别歌曲库中下载音乐，你听的永远没有他们发布的音乐多。

The Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center enables you to set up new partnerships, synchronize content and manage music, pictures and video with Windows Mobile powered devices (Windows Mobile 2003 or later). The Windows Mobile Device Center is only supported on Windows Vista.

The Windows Mobile Device Center combines an efficient business-data synchronization platform with a compelling user experience. Windows Mobile Device Center helps you to quickly set up new partnerships, synchronize business-critical information such as e-mail, contacts and calendar appointments, easily manage your synchronization settings, and transfer business documents between your device and PC.

The Windows Mobile Device Center simplifies managing media between your Windows Mobile powered device and your PC. With the picture acquisition wizard, you can easily tag and transfer all of the pictures from your Windows Mobile powered device to your PC’s Windows Photo Gallery.

Robust synchronization - Synchronization of business-critical data such as e-mail, calendars, contacts, tasks, favorites, and files.

Photo management – Picture management helps you detect new photos on your Windows Mobile powered device, tag and import them to the Windows Vista Photo Gallery.

Media synchronization - Use Microsoft Windows Media Player to synchronize and shuffle music files on your device.

The Windows Mobile Device Center is compatible with Windows Mobile 2003 devices and later.

目前而言：可同步的设备必须能够与Center软件相连——即使有些设备即使能够被PC机所识别，但是却不能被Windows Mobile Device Center软件识别也无法进行同步。虽然微软公司已承诺，Windows Vista的新特性之一将会是能够支持更为众多的手持设备，而不仅仅是Windows Mobile设备，但是这个工作可不简单！目前的Windows Mobile Device Center软件仍为测试版，想支持这一功能还有些力不从心。但是用户仍然可以通过PC机来查看连接设备的电量，看来Windows Vista确实有一定优势。

结论：从支持移动设备这点来看，我们必须承认，Windows Vista并没有带来任何重大的改善。即时同步装置并非工作的完美无缺，而且微软还没有提供支持在线点播功能(通过在线转播付费自动传送媒体文件)。不过“Windows Mobile Device Center”软件的视觉设计确实非常出色，以至于用户可能会忍不住经常使用它来与电脑同步信息。至少庆幸的是：这款全新发布的操作系统——Windows Vista——微软并没有忘记对Windows Mobile手机的支持，并且我们可以安全的将自己的旧PC更新为Vista操作系统。

另外来自美国《Pocket PC》杂志的消息截至到2007年夏季前，使用WindowsMobile的用户不能在终端上阅读Office2007的文档。
